Common Name Hasselt's Dendrobium [Dutch Botanist in Indonesia 1800's]

Flower Size to 1" [to 2.5 cm]

Found in penninsular Malaysia, Java and Sumatra at altitudes of 1500 to 3000 meters as a small to large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte on ridges in high mountain, moss forests with slender, fractiflex, short and erect to pendant and long stems carrying many, thin, lanceolate leaves which blooms on a very short, axillary, racemose, few flowered, honey scented inflorescence, several arising from the leaf nodes at the apex of leafless parts of mature canes occuring in the late summer and fall. Plants should be allowed to somewhat dry up between waterings for 2 to 3 months in the winter.

D brinchangense is now said to be a white flowered synonym of this species but I have left them separate pending more research.
