Common Name or Meaning The Marai Parai Dendrobium [Elevated plain near Mt Kinabalu]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Borneo [Sabah, Sarawak] near Mount Kinabalu in lower montane forests at elevations of 1200 to 2300 meters as a stiffly erect, medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic orchid with an elongate stem enveloped completely by persistent leaf sheaths carrying, narrowly elliptic, acute, unequally bilobed apically, distichous, articulate, stiff, leathery, nigrohirsute when young leaves that blooms in the summer in situ on a single flowered, short inflorescence arising from the leaf axils with ovate, acute floral bracts.

Allied to D hepaticum and But differs in the narrow, acultely bilobed leaves.
