Found in southeastern Sichuan province of China, Assam, Thailand, and Vietnam in forests on tree trunks at elevations around 1500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slightly flattened, slender, branched stems carrying distichous, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the later summer and fall on a subumbellate, short to .4" [1 cm], often 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts.

CAUTION!!! The often erroneously cited species for either Sikkim or Bhutan as G intermedius is actually G linearifolius, G intermedius has not been recorded for the eastern Himalayas, Sikkim or Bhutan.
