Common Name Clare's Habenaria - in Madagascar - Sinananga
Flower Size 2.8" [7" cm]
Found in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Madagascar in coastal forests, humid, evergreen forests, marshes and rocky outcrops in shade at elevations of sealevel to 1800 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a leafy erect stem that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, laxly several flowered inflorescence
Not to be confused with the name H elliotii for a North American orchid by Beck 1833 which is now a synonym of Platanthera integra and for that reason Hermans renamed this orchid H clareae in 2007
