Common Name The Long Horned Habenaria

Flower Size

Found in southwestern India at elevations around 1700 to 2600 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect, basally few sheathed, leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, usually alternate, sometimes basally crowded, linear-oblong to linear, acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer and fall on an erect, 3.6 to 5.6" [9 to 14 cm] long, terminal, lax, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence enveloped in the lower half by a few bracts, above narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white, subsessile flowers

Similar to H trifida but it is distinguished by its ovaries without peduncles, by its lip with an acuminate apex to the lateral lobes and by the abscence of the filiform appendages on the lateral lobes of the lip.
