Common Name The Round Lobed Habenaria

Flower Size .4" [1 cm] wide

Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela at elevations of 175 to 200 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized hot growing terrestrial with an erect, more or less robust, glabrous stem carrying 5 to 8 grass-like, erect patent, linear oblong to lanceolate, acute, conspicuously 3 to 5 nerved, carinate beneath, basally clasping leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 1.2 to 5.2" [3 to 13 cm] long, laxly 3 to 7 flowered inflorescence with lnceolate, longly acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying erect-patent. small flowers.

CAUTION This species has often been put as a synonym of H macronectar but they are quite different. H sartor differs in being one of the tallest Habenaria and each flower segment can reach up to .8" [2 cm] long, as much as in H longicaudata but the spur is promenently shorter 5.28" [12.7 cm] versus 8" [20 cm] in hH longicaudata, the pedicellate ovary is longer 1.6 to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm], and the posterior lobe of the petal is .56 x .072 versus .6 to .8" x .06 [1.5 to 2 cm] x .06 to .12" [1.5 to 3 mm] respectively." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2017

It is a variable species and for that reason I have offered various drawings.
