Common Name The Thailand Habenaria
Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]
Found in southeastern Guizhou province of China and northern Thailand in grassy locals in open forests at elevations of 170 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with 2, basal, adpressed to the ground, cordate to ovate-lanceolate, mucronate leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, lax, rather wide, 3.2 to 5" [8 to 12.5 cm] long, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence with 3 to 4, suberect, lanceolate, acuminate, sometimes with shortly hairy margined sterile bracts and lanceolate to ovate, acuminate margined, shortly hairy, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
This species, H humistrata, H reniformis, H porphyricola, H humidicola, and H poilanei form a group of similar and possibly conspecific species and need more study to see if they can mainain their separate species status.
