Found in Pastaza Ecuador at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with stout erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-obovate, subacute, gradually narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, stout, triquetrous, congested, successively single, 5.8" [14.5 cm] long, several flowered, racemose inflorescence with thin, oblique, imbricating floral bracts carrying a very compressed flower.
