Common Name The Circular Roof Masdevallia [refers to the rounded dorsal sepal

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Peru in high cloud forests at elevations of 3000 to 3500 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing orchid with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute leaf that is cuneate below into a slender petiole and blooms on a slender, erect, 4 3/4" to 5 3/5" [12 to 14 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and a thin tubular floral bract holding the fragrant floral scented flower at leaf height.
