This is a cool to cold growing, mini-miniature sized epiphyte from Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 1700-2800 meters that has blackish, erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, dark green, petiolate, elliptical, subacute to obtuse leaf that is cuneate below into the blackish petiole and a horizontal to ascending, 1 5/8" to 4" [4 to 10 cm] long, solitary flowered inflorescence occuring in the fall, winter, spring and summer.
