Found in the eastern cordillera of Ecuador and Colombia in cloud forest at elevations of 750 to 2900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with blackish, slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, erect, elliptical to broadly elliptical, obtuse to rounded leaf with the base cuneate into the petiole and blooms in the winter and spring on a slender, erect, 1 /5" to 2" long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul and with a bract near the base and a tubular floral bract carrying the single flower just above the leaf.
