Found in Ayacucho department of Peru at elevations of 2900 to 3400 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a slender, erect, 3.6 to 4.4" [9 to 11 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract above the base and an oblique floral bract.
