Found in Amazonas department of Peru at elevations around 2000 to 2400 meters as a mini-miniature, cold growing epiphyte with erect, blackish, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 close sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the elongate, blackish petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later summer on an erect to ascending, slender, 2" [5 cm] long, as long as the leaf, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a tubular floral bract.
