Common Name Gloria's Masdevallia [wife of Co-collector Maduro currrent]

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Panama at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical-obovate, subacute to obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a erect to suberect, terete, 1.2 to 1.8" [3 to 4.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a basal bract and a loose, tubular, oblique floral bract.
