Found in Peru and Bolivia in wet montane forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 close sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, 3" [7.5 cm] long, as long as the leaf, stout, successively few flowered inflorescence
