Common Name or Meaning The Truncate Masdevallia [refers to the lip]

Found in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador without collection data as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, subacute , narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a slender, erect, 2.4 to 2.6" [6 to 6.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a bract at the base, arising from low on the ramicaul with a tubular floral bract and holding the flower just above leaf height.
