Common Name or Meaning The Spiked Pleurothallis

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo states of Brazil at elevations of 200 to 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to cool growing, repent epiphyte with a cylindrical, erect, ramicaul with a single, tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, lanceolate, obtuse, imperceptively tridentate apically, laongly attenuate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms on a single, filiform, .6 to 1" " [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, successively single, 2 flowered inflorescence.

"Anathallis aristulata is characterized by the short ramicauls, fleshy leaves that vary in consistency depending on the amount of sun avaiable, a short, lax inflorescence carrying 2 simultaneous, yellow flowers." Santos, Toscano and Smidt 2019

Many authors include P crebrifolia, P montipelladensis and P ourobranquensis as Synonyms of this species, I have left them separate for now.
