Common Name The Flattened Horizontally Pleurothallis [refers to the column that is flat with the lip]

Found in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador at elevations of 800 to 1800 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a close, tubular sheath on the lower fourth and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute, coradte below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on a [1 to 2 mm] long, arising through a spathe, successively single flowered inflorescence with as long as to much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying the flat flower flat against the leaf.
"The flowers are flat and lie flat against the leaf. The flowers are of average size with an acute, elliptical, three veined dorsal sepal. The petals are entire and subulate and the oblong-ovate dorsally compressed, slightly concave lip lies flat against the synsepal. Most distinctive is the flattened column lying in the same plane as the surface of the lip." Luer 2005
