Common Name The Leathery Heart-shaped Leaf Pleurothallis

Found in Colombia Ecuador and Peru in cloud forests at elevations of 1200 to 3800 meters as a medium to large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with slender to stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 close tubular sheaths and another on the lower third and carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, ovate to narrowly ovate, acute, lightly acuminate, basally sessile and deeply cordate leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on sometimes several, fascile of short, successive, singler flowered infloresence arising from the apex of the ramicaul through a spathe and carries tubular floral bracts.
