Found in Chiapas Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations around 1200 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by loose tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, loose, subflexuous, 3" [7.5 cm] long, simultaneously several flowered inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul with infundibular floral bracts.
