Common Name Cuatrecasa's Pleurothallis [Spanish Botanist and collector of species 1900's]

Found in Cauca Colombia at elevations of 2950 to 3150 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with an ascending to erect ramicaul enveloped by a loose tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3, loose, imbricating sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a single, secund, 7.2" [18 cm] long including the 2 to 2.4" [5 to 6 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a slender, spathe from an annulus below the abscision layer
