Common Name Determann's Pleurothallis [American curator of the Atlanta Botanical Garden current]

Found in Guyana, Surinam, Para' Brazil, Bolivia and Napo province of Ecuador at elevations of 285 to 400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, repent epiphyte with stout, suberect ramcauls enveloped by a thin tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, suberect to reclining, coriaceous, broadly elliptic, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a suberect, short, single flowered, occasionally folled by another, inflorescence holding the flower near the leaf base with thin, tubular, as long as to much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Characterized by the short stemmed, overlapping, little elliptical leaves bourne by a short, creeping rhizome. The flowers are produced singly with the long-pubescent, obcuneate lip within the synsepal with a prominent mentum with the column foot." Luer 2006
