Common Name Endres' Pleurothallis [Costa Rican Orchid Collector and Illustrator 1800's]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Guatemala and Cartago province of Costa Rica in lowlands without collection data as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, long-repent epiphyte with ramicauls enveloped at the base by 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, lateral, coriaceous, elliptical to narrowly obovate, subacute to obtuse, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a lateral, .2" [5 mm] long, successively 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence and has an infundibular, as long as the pedicel floral bract.

"Distinguished by the repent habit, erect, elliptical leaf borne by a much shorter ramicaul from which a short, successively few flowered inflorescence arises as seen in P polygnoides. The dorsal sepal is free but the laterals are connate basally. The sepals are narrow and ciliate, the petals are oblong and serrate towards the apex and the narrowly ovate lip is denticulate with a bifurcated callus below the middle and bilobulated at the base."
