Found in Antioquia Colombia at elevations around 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a thin tubular sheath above the base and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, horizontal to spreading, coriaceous, ovate, acute, slightly acuminate, cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a fascile of successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising through and concealed by a slender spathe and carrying red, non-resupinate flowers.
