Found in Rio de Janiero Brazil in primary forests at elevations of 900 to 1200 meters as a miniature sized, warm to coool growing epiphyte with an erect slender ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 orange brown sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceousobovate, papery, conduplicate, slightly infolded basally leaf that blooms in the fall on a slightly curved, 8 to 10" [20 to 25 cm] long, successively to 4 at onc, to 7 flowered inflorescene arising through a spathe and carry pendent flowers.

CAUTION! am not happy with this determination but Guy Chiron does know orchids. It does not conform with Seehawer 2008 so use with caution.
