Found in Surinam and Fr Guiana in lowland forests at elevations below 1000 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped above the base by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the winter on a loose, 2" [5 cm] long including the .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long peduncle, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe from the apex of the ramicaul at the base of the leaf and has a narrowly obovate, acute floral bract.
