Found in southeastern Brazil at elevations around 800 to 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with short ramicauls enveloped by 2 light green to brown, membraneous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thick, obovate, obtuse, shiny to dark olive green, sometimes purple flecked, faintly conduplicate, attenuate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer through early fall on a .2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm] long, successively to 3 flowered inflorescence
