Common Name Lange's Pleurothallis [German Orchid Collector in Brazil late 1800's - early 1900's]
Flower Size
Found in Parana state of Brazil at elevations around 700 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing, repent epiphyte with short ramicauls carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, oblong to more or less rhombic-obovate, minutely tridenticulate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a short, single flowered inflorescence.
Kraenzlin compares this orchid with Pleurothallis crinita and Pleurothallis tribuloides.
CAUTION I have no way of verifying this determination so please use with caution. Most likely the photo above is not correct as it has multiflowered inflorescence and the type is single flowered.
Synonyms Acianthera langeana (Kraenzl.) Pridgeon & M.W.Chase 2001; Cryptophoranthus dusenii Schltr. 1922; Cryptophoranthus langeanus (Kraenzl.) Garay 1953
