Common Name The Tiny Flower Bud Pleurothallis

Flower Size .16" [4mm]

Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil at elevations around 1100 to 1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect to horizontal ramicauls enveloped by imbricating, green to brown, membraneous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaecous, obovate, dark olive green, conduplicate, slightly infolded, attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall on a .2 to .4" [5 to 10 mm long, 2 to 6 alternate, flowered inflorescence.

Most likely this orchid is a synonym of P microphyta but I have left them separate for now.

CAUTION I am not positive of this determination so please use with caution. There are no suporting plant photos and in these Brazilian mini-miniatures it is often important to see the plant morphology for a positive id.
