Common Name The Pointy Tailed Pleurothallis

Found in Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia in premontane wet forests at elevations of 1600 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic-obovate, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect then arching, arising laterally from the ramicaul, loose, subflexuous, 2" [5 cm] long, successively several flowered inflorescence with just shorter to as long as the pedicel floral bract.
"Characterized by the lax, flexuous, successively flowered raceme that far surpasses the leaves. The sepals are minutely pubescent. The petals are contracted from the middle into a filiform, pubescent tail. The lip is oblong-subpandurate and ciliate with a pair of calli that diverge in the middle to create a central cavity. The edges of the apex of the lip may or may not recurve into a short, tubular tip." Luer 2006
