Found in Brazil, Surinam and Venezuela in rainforests at elevations of 200 to 300 meters as a miniature sized hot growing epiphyte with erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptical leaf that gradually narrows into the apex of the ramicaul and blooms on a short, fasciculate, single flowered inflorescence with the flowers held close to the leaf base.
