Found in southeastern Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with an erect to repent ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, ovate, rounded, purple spotted, gradually narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a racemose, successively single to 5 flowered inflorescence
