Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 2100 to 2600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, ramicauls enveloped by a brown grey, elongate, tubular sheath and another at the middle and carrying a single, apical, rigid, narrowly ellipitc, minutely tridenticulate apically, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on a pendant, thin, pale green, 4.8" [to 12 cm] long, few [4 to 5] flowered, racemose inflorescence arising through a dried up, scarious sheath just below the apex of the petiole.

This species is most related to P aggeris as both have the concave basal part to the lip and have erect sides to the basal third of the lip, but this species has a longer more narrow lip with an acute apex.
