Found in Norte de Santander Colombia on the eeastern cordillera of the Andes at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool, pendant growing epiphyte with ramicauls enveloped by 2, fugacious, ablique, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, pendant, thinly coriaceous, mottled purple beneath, elliptical, slightly conduplicate, acute to subacute, cuneate at the sessile base leaf that blooms on a short, congested, successively 4 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising through a large, inflated, leaf-like sheath at the base of the leaf.
