Found in northwestern Venezuela 1500 to 2600 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect to suberect ramicauls enveloped basally by a close tubular sheath near the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, suberect to horizontal, coriaceous, ovate to narrowly ovate, cordate, acute, slightly acuminate, basally sessile leaf that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on a successively single flowered inflorescence arising from a reclining spathe with thin, tubular floral bracts carrying a non-resupinate flower.

Characterized by the non-resupinate flower arising through a reclining spathe at the base of a cordate leaf with the middle sepal round and the uppermost synsepal behind the lip is transversely ovate. The petals are widest towards the apex and are apiculate and the lip is subqudrate and diffusely verrucose.
