Common Name The Series Pleurothallis [refers to the successive flowering infloresence]

Found in Venezuela, French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam and Brazil in rain forests at elevations around 400 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to erect ramicauls enveloped in youth by 2 to 3, scarious, tubular, evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical erect, coriaceous, obovate-oblanceolate, to oblanceolate, rounded and tridenticulate apically, attenuate and petiolate below into the base leaf that blooms mostly in the late spring and early summer on 1 to a few, to 1.6 to 5.6" [4 to 14 cm] long, fractiflex, laxly few, successively flowered inflorescence with less than half as long as the pedicel floral bracts and holding the flowers well above the leaves.
