Found in Cauca Colombia at elevations of 2800 to 3200 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath below the middle and another 2 at the base and carrying a single, apical, suberect to nearly horizontal, coriaceous, ovate, subacute, cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the late spring through mid fall on a successively single, few flowered inflorescence, arising through and concealed by a reclining spathe and has a tubular floral bract.
