Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 900 to 1400 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with, smooth, stout, erect ramiucals enveloped by a spotted sheath below the middle and 1 to 2 shorter ones at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the sessile to subsessile base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a succesion of single flowers arising and enveloped completely by a reclinig spathe at the base of the leaf and has a thin, tubular floral bract..
