Common Name The Large Leafed Bulbophyllum - In China Da Ye Juan Ban Lan
Flower Size 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm]
Found in Guizhou, Xizang and Yunnan provinces of China, the eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand and Laos in broad leaved forests on rocks at elevations around 1700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome that has 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] between each ovoid-cylindric pseudobulb carrying a single, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, leathery, obtuse apically, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on 1 to 2, basal, erect, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, 4 to 8 flowered, umbellate inflorescence with 3 to 5 tubular sheaths and lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate floral bracts.
