Found in northwestern Yunnan province of China in forests on tree trunks at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome that has .2 to .4" [5 to 1 cm] between each narrowly ovoid to bottle-shaped pseudobulb carrying a single, subsessile, oblong, leathery, obtuse apically, gradually narrowing below into the shortly conduplicate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a basal, suberect, short, often 4 to 5 flowered, umbellate inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
