Common Name Brito's Cattleya [Brazilian collector of the species current]

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil as a natural hybrid between Laelia crispata and Laelia mirandae as a medium sized, cool growing lithophyte with cylindrical, round in cross section, dark green strongly pigmented with purple brown pseuodbulbs carrying a single, apical, straight, conduplicate, linear-lanceoate leaf that blooms in the Brazilian summer on an erect, terminal, arising through a linear-lanceolate spathe, to 22" [55 cm] long, rapidly successive to 14 flowered inflorescence.
