Common Name The Window Bulbophyllum [refers to the hole formed by the sepals]
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in Thailand, penninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java and Borneo in rather open, dry primary forests at elevations of 100 to 1100 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with .8 to 6.4" [2 to 16 cm] between each distinct, ovoid to ellipsoid, distinctly four angled pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, obovate, obtuse to acute, petiolalte base leaf that blooms on an erect to patent, peduncle 3.2 to 4.8" [8 to 12 cm] long, rachis porrect to curved, [9 to 13 cm] long overall, subumbellate, 7 to 15 flowered inflorescence
Often cited as a synonym of B taeniophyllum (Parish & Rchb. f.) Hook. f. 1896 but that species does not have a tooth on the inner surface of the stelida and the lip widens more gradually towards its base and has distinct ridges on its adaxial side. Verm & O'Byrne 2015
Verm & O'Byrne add B dentiferum as a synonym of this species but I have left them separate pending better references.
Synonyms Cirrhopetalum fenestratum (J.J. Sm.) Garay, Hamer & Siegerist 1994
