Common Name or Meaning The La Cristalina Cranichis [A Ranch in Cundinamarca department of Colombia]

Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia in high montane forests at elevations around 3200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial terrestrial with 2, basal, oblong to ovate-lanceolate, acute, rounded to truncate belkow into the narrowly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, peduncle 13.2" [33 cm] long, delicate, glandular oin the upper third, provided with 4 sheathing bracts, rachis 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous tos parsely glandular, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, inconspicuous, glabrous flowers.

" Resembles both Cranichis sylvatica and Cranichis werffii but is easily separable by the petals and lip form. The petals of C cristalinensis are widest at the apex and the lip is sessile, suborbicular and much thickened in the center." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2020
