Common Name Andrich's Encyclia [Brazilian original collector of Species current]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil at elevations around 200 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with 2 to 3, erect, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 24 to 40" [60 to 100 cm] long, paniculate, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence carrying slightly fragrant flowers

Similar to Encyclia seidelii but E andrichii differs in it's epiphytic habit and in it's paniculate inflorescence and smaller flowers with larger lateral lobes. Also similar to Encyclia kundergraberi but you can see the differences in the photo above. Kew also puts Encyclia santanae and Encyclia zaslawskiana as synonyms of this species but for now I have left them, separate.
