Common Name Ferreira's Encyclia [Brazilian female biological technician current]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in northwestern Para state of Brazil at elevations around 160 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with pyriform-elongate, initially smooth becoming somewhat rugose with age, bifoliate pseudobulbs carrying rigid, coriaceous, oblong leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, racemose, simultaneously several flowered inflorescence.

Similar to Encyclia paraensis but differs in larger flower size and narrower shape of the sepals and petals.
