Common Name The Sierra de Perija Epidendrum [A mountain in west central Venezuela]

Found in Venezuela near the Cesar Colombian border at elevations around 2700 meters as a large sized, cold growing, decumbent terrestrial with a tough, subterete stem carrying several in the upper 1/4, elliptic-ovate, abtuse, leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 2” [5 cm] long, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with small floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers with light orange with red spotted sepals, rather darker yellow, less fleshy petals and a white, flushed purple with age.
