Found in Angola? and Zambia in marshes at elevations around 1500 to 1680 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a leafy throughout stem carrying 7 to 9, linear, acute, grading into bracts above leaves that blooms in the later winter on a terminal, erect, 2.8 to 5.2" [7 to 13 cm] long, lax to dense, several to many flowered inflorescence with finely reticulate, shorter to as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying pale green flowers.
Closely related to H huillensis but differs in the smaller flowers and shorter incurved antherophores
The bloom time of later winter is unusual for the Habenaria in Zambia and Angola.
