Flower Size .48” [1.2 cm] long,

Found in Mexico in oak forests at elevations around 1750 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a subterranean, ovoid to ellipsoid tuber giving rise to 4 to 5, basally small, lanceolate to ovate above, ascending, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, racemose, 5 to 9 flowereed inflorescence with as long as the ovary floral bracts.

" Habenaria pseudofilifera has been confused with H. filifera but the first differs by The next set of attributes: an 8.4 to 11.2" [21 to 28 cm] tall plant; the first two cuculated leaves reduced to sheaths, the next develops a short lamina, the next are the largest, the uppermost similar to the floral bracts, the lower ovate or ovade-lanceolate, the largest lanceolate, acuminate, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long, .32 to .44" [0.8 to 1.1 cm] wide; the ovate lanceolate, acute, dorsal sepal is .32" [8 mm] long, .16" [4 mm] wide; the acuminate, lanceolate lateral sepals are .32" [8 mm] long and .08" [2 mm] wide; the falcate, acuminate posterior lobe of the petals is .26" [6.5 mm] long and .04" [1 mm] wide, the cintiform, rounded anterior lobe is .32" [8 mm] long and .016" [0.4 mm] wide; the lateral lobes of the labellum are vitiforme and .48" [12 mm] long and .016" [0.4mm] wide; the middle lobe is .36" 9 mm long and .06" [1.5 mm] wide and the rostellum arms and channels of the anther are antrose. More than one author considers H. filifera to be synonymous with Habenaria entomantha , I don't know how it will be able to know for certain as long as there is no certainty as to to the true identity of H entomantha, which, according to the authors, are found together with the species of white flowers in the state of Michoacán. No specimens were found that could be determined with certainty as H. entomantha; the species that is mentioned as that species (NAYARIT; TEPIC: La Batea, pine and oak forest, 1440 meters above sea level, August 4, 1996, S Alvarado et al. s.n.) its whereabouts are unknown."
