Found in southwestern India at elevations around 1700 to 2600 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect, basally few sheathed, leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, usually alternate, sometimes basally crowded, linear-oblong to linear, acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer and fall on an erect, 3.6 to 5.6" [9 to 14 cm] long, terminal, lax, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence enveloped in the lower half by a few bracts, above narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white, subsessile flowers
