Common Name The Net Nerved Habenaria
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in Zaire, Tanzania, Angola, Malawi and Zambia in grassy clearings in woodlands or at the margins at elevations around 1000 to 1740 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with a globose, ellipsoid to ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect, stem carrying 7 to 11, the lowermost white with dark green reticulation, sheathing, the next few semi-erect, lanceolate, the uppermost grading into the bract-like leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, 4 to 10.4" [10 to 17 cm] long, fairly laxly 8 to 30 flowered inflorescence with scarious, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts.
